A Night in Norway……

Last night the hubby and I attended a Norwegian Christmas Dinner event known as    Julebord! It was a night filled with great friends, lots of drinking, eating and dancing!

We were greeted with lovely mugs of hot and steamy Glogg (Norwegian Mulled Wine) which was the perfect beginning to a great night.

During dinner we had copious amounts of red and white wine, but the star of the night was the good ole Aquavit~ and the food of course.

Has to be mentioned that at our table we did the traditional drinking Norsky song every time we had a shot of Aquavit – Og så svinger vi på seidelen igjen, hei skål!”

Check out this youtube video (no it wasn’t us we were a lot more in tune) to get the right understanding of this cheering fun moment. Click here!

The dinner spread had all the Norwegian Traditional dishes, below I listed and added pictures of as many as I can remember:

  • Shrimp Salad
  • Peel your own Shrimp
  • Smoked Salmon

to mention a few………and they were all delicious! Have to thank Willy Hansen from Willy’s Products for always providing the best of the best to all the Norwegian Events!

I tried visiting the dessert table and managed to fit a little spoon of Riskrem (Rice Cream) which is served with a delicious Raspberry Sauce but unfortunately that was all there was room for.

We left this event with full happy belly’s, filled with Christmas Cheer. Skål!
