Black Pepper Candied Bacon

Assuming you have heard about the sinful Candied Bacon right? If you haven’t you don’t know what you are missing so you need to try it! All you have to do is skip the black pepper part of this recipe and now you know.

Anyway, adding black pepper to the Candied Bacon elevates the flavour to a different level and all you need are 3 simple ingredients.

  • Thick center cut bacon
  • Coarse black pepper
  • Brown Sugar

First of all lay your bacon out and give it a good sprinkle of coarse black pepper, if you like black pepper, don’t worry about getting carried away, the more the better! Sometimes I find Black Pepper bacon at the grocery store so if you do you save yourself a step. But I find I still end up adding black pepper anyway.

Place brown sugar in on a plate, don’t be shy as you want each slice to get a good dusting.


Pat each slice of bacon on the brown sugar and coat both sides.

Preheat oven to 375 deg Farenheit

Line a baking sheet with foil (makes cleaning easier) and place a cookie cooking rack on top of the pan.


Place bacon neatly, do not allow each slice to touch each other and bake away for 30 minutes. You might need to do it in batches, depending on how much bacon you have an how big your baking pan is.

Let it cool on the rack before removing and then let me know if it’s not just heavenly!!!!!! Works great in a burger or just as a very naughty snack <3
